Exhaust Gas Sensor Modern management systems to ensure compliance with the fuel-air ratio within very narrow limits safely. The aim is to minimize fuel consumption and pollutant emissions of the engine. The correct function of the system can be checked by measuring the exhaust gas composition and the calculation of the fuel-air ratio. The exhaust gas components carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), hydrocarbon (HC), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and oxygen (O2) must be measured with high accuracy for this purpose. In particular, the measurement of oxygen are high demands.
The properties of the exhaust gas sensors are optimized for the measurement of automobile exhaust gases. In coordination with the requirements of this application, the sensor has a very short response time, a low background current, and an excellent signal stability. By careful selection of electrode material and the composition of the electrolyte, a very low cross sensitivity to other components of automobile exhaust as unburned hydrocarbons, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and high humidity is achieved.
